Green Tea – Protecting You From The Inside Out
It has finally been scientifically proven that beauty is more than skin deep.
A recently released two-year, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study conducted by Stanford School of Medicine validates that oral supplementation with a high quality green tea extract can enhance the appearance of skin.
“This landmark research confirms the philosophy that there is a strong relationship between nutrition and physical appearance,” said Joe Chang, Ph.D., an eminent scientist from Provo, Utah, USA. “The results from this clinical study illustrate to consumers that the best anti-aging strategy requires a two-pronged approach that focuses on both internal nutrition and external skin care.”
Women who took the high quality green tea extract twice daily for two years determined they experienced reduction in pore size and increased skin evenness. Clinical graders reported reduced appearance of small blood vessels and reduced solar damage.
Additionally, a higher percentage of subjects in the active group had improvements in photo ageing compared to the placebo group, as determined by a clinical grader.
This largest clinical trial reported to date on the subject was published in Dermatological Surgery (May 2009) and presented at the 67th annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) in San Francisco in March.
The high quality green tea extract contains a proprietary green tea extract containing 97 percent polyphenols of which 65 percent are catechins. The antioxidant power in one capsule is equivalent to seven cups of the traditionally brewed green tea drink and is 99.5 percent caffeine free. Green tea has been used traditionally in China for thousands of years for its health-preserving and revitalizing power, and modern science has identified polyphenols as powerful antioxidants. One group of polyphenols—catechins—is particularly potent and highly effective in neutralizing free radicals at the cellular level.
This reinforces our long held understanding that true beauty comes from a healthy body. Without that as a base any other aesthetic endeavors may be much more difficult.
Often, skin problems just disappear when the gut is operating better or the lymphatic system is detoxified. Some see the skin as an elimination organ and when it has an issue it may be because the liver or kidneys are unable to function well and the body attempts to rid itself of toxins via the skin. This results in an inflammatory response and many times a skin ‘disease’ is diagnosed.
At Revival we promote deep beauty. The concepts of covering imperfections up, or operating on them or injecting them with known neurotoxins are all the OPPOSITE perspective on how we should enhance our body.
Technology now exists where ageing can be countered at a cellular level. This is a much more desirable approach than ‘Cover it, Cut it or Inject it” which seems to be the limited domain of many purporting to be in the Antiageing Industry.
